I guess I punched him a little too hard, or he ...Lol. afaik, the father won't show up if you're just robbing the place. he doesn't spawn until strauss' mission. but like most npcs that are needed for something else, he'll probably just respawn if you somehow killed him out of sequence. I agree with it likely glitching as it worked fine on my play throughs.
