Ford 2000 tractor problems
1966 Ford 2000 3-cyl gas, 4-spd I bought this tractor earlier in the spring and used it with the grader blade and loader for about 4 hours straight one day. It ran fine the whole time. I had it down for a while to reconnect the PTO lever that had slipped out of place and change the back-end fluid. I changed the oil and oil filter while I was at it. When the problem happens and the engine dies, tap on the outside of the carb bowl with the handle of a large screwdriver and then see if it will start right back up instead of having to wait 5 minutes. If it starts then the valve is sticking but tapping on it with the screwdriver frees it up temporarily.
