Apr 6, 2020 · Apologies, this thread had been miscategorized. The SimpliSafe Original Key Fob is a little chunkier, so it could accomodate a replaceable battery. The Gen 3 (current gen) Key Fob does not have a replaceable battery. The Base Station's batteries are rechargeable NiMH, and they stay charged as long as the Base Station is plugged in. To change the batteries of the SimpliSafe control keypad, you will need to remove six screws and four new AA batteries. Simply remove the keypad from its wall-mounted bracket. Remove the back cover, replace the batteries, and screw the cover back into place. (Note: Gen 3 SimpliSafe Key Fobs batteries are not replaceable.Arm and disarm your security system using your keypad or key fob, or take instant action with the built-in panic buttons on each.
