Within the last few years, Rhodan Marine and Minn Kota have rolled out models with 84-, 87- and even 96-inch shafts to use on boats in the 40-foot range, with bows towering more than 6 feet above the waterline. I find it mush easier to operate without thinking than the MK. Also, Rhodan's customer service is hard to beat. On the other hand, the the MK has a better, more secure mount when the motor is is the stored position and I think it's quieter than the Rhodan. it would be nice if you could play with both and see which one would suit you better.
