I personally prefer the W900 because it has somewhat better visibility (one-piece windshield with no bar down the middle, and the 389's sun visor can make traffic lights difficult to see at times), but it's entirely up to you. Well, like many here I own one of everything because for me, the load and the route call for different power and configurations: Oversize, Heavy & Special Transport loads: Peterbilt 389 or Kenworth W900 (whatever I'm in the mood to drive that day haha) . Having driven all three brands, a 96 Pete 379, an 07 w900, and my current '13 4900ex glider, I liked the w900 the best. But the star is just as nice. All three were spec'd similar, the 379 and the star have E-model cats set at 550, the w900 was a Cummins. They all performed pretty much the same.
