Geological research
The Fellow will seek to understand the connections amongst earthquake source properties from low-frequency, static measurements to high-frequency dynamic observations. Work could focus on field, seismic or geodetic observations, laboratory experiments, simulations of rupture propagation or ground motion. Some ideas include, but are not limited to:AVO interpretation is a process including the work of seismic processing, inversion, forward modeling, geological background research, and reservoir characterization. Selecting the appropriate hydrocarbon detection factor is crucial for AVO interpretation. There are >20 hydrocarbon detection factors derived from AVO inversion.Geophysical Research Letters is a gold open access journal that publishes high-impact, innovative, and timely communications-length articles on major advances spanning all of the major geoscience disciplines. Papers should have broad and immediate implications meriting rapid decisions and high visibility.
