They usually go 2 ways: A Sorcerer that can wear heavy armor (Making Dex a dump stat because you no longer need it for AC). So you start paladin get heavy armor allowance, level 2 for smites, and you get a Sorc who is no longer a glass cannon.

This post covers Sorlock Build for Baldur's Gate 3. This is an overpowered warlock sorcerer multiclass. This merges two casters giving full access to Sorcerer features like Draconic Bloodline, metamagic, etc. The Warlock class provides - Eldritch Blast, Eldritch Invocations, and some powerful control spells.Sorcadin can play with sorc points and meta, which is great for buffs and debuffs. Bardadin has great spells and the Flourish extra attack thing. Lockadin has a (maybe broken) 3rd attack, using pact weapon, which can also use Smite. Paladin 6 or 7/Sorc X. You're choosing between the level 7 Paladin Aura or the Sorc subclass feature. Either way the level 6 Paladin Aura and Extra Attack are necessary for the multiclass to be worth it.
